Chloe J. Coney

Chloe J. Coney has been a lifelong leader, community developer, and catalyst for change. At thirteen, she helped integrate Hillsborough County’s segregated school system. She later graduated with honors from Hillsborough High School in 1968.

She earned a B.S. in Political Science and Corrections from Florida A&M University, where she was Miss Freshman, pledged Delta Sigma Theta, and was named Who’s Who in American Colleges.

After earning her Master’s in Biblical Counseling, Chloe returned to Tampa and founded the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa. She secured $50 million to revitalize East Tampa through job training, commercial development, economic growth, youth leadership, and affordable housing.

Chloe served as District Director for Congresswoman Kathy Castor and now leads Community Enterprise Group, LLC, a consulting firm focused on community engagement, public involvement, and workforce development.

Chloe is married to her childhood sweetheart of 58 years and has three children and grandchildren.
